More Prep...
Put in a solid day of tearing down the Evo. Hubs are all off and the axles just needs to be pulled, the rears look great but the fronts will be sent out for a rebuilding. As far as the hubs go, glad to see that none of them look bad or have any excessive play. No visual cracks either but a magnaflux test would be better for that then the naked eye. Although the hubs look good, they will be stored in the trailer and used as extras. Dropped the Diff as well, still weighing out all the options as far as re building it goes. 12 plate is all the rage these days but I have also looked in to the new weir 16 plate diff.

Stripping success!
Black Friday tear down was a success with the suspension off and down the road to Robispec. The broken and busted body panels are off for the most part. Front bumper, fenders, rear wide body, and the side skirts are hanging by a thread. I also went and picked up the new Voltex style rear wide body over fenders and will start putting those on in the coming weeks!
While the TesmWIN evo is in self destruct mode, I have also began buying new safety gear for 2012. I am pretty much a huge fan of the entire Alpinestars catalog so I will be ordering up new gloves, shoes, and hopefully a suit.
And as promised, a few pics from today's take off party.

Black Friday! stripping not shopping.
Tomorrow morning while America waits in line to save a few $$$, I will be hard at work to strip the TeamWIN evo. Suspension is first on the list as with Robispec's help have determined my alignment woes was due to some bent front struts! The KW competitions will be shipped to Robi for rebuilding and hopefully because I am doing it so early there is no worry of not having them back in time!
Secondly I will be heading out to good ol' Touge Factory to pick up a few pieces of the new wide body set up!
Pics tomorrow, I promise..... maybe
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

2012 Race Prep begins, 4 1/2 months till go time!
Well its mid November and the winter is in the air, the temps are dropping and soon the snow will be falling. What better time then to start ripping the TeamWIN evo apart for the 2012 race season! In the off season I have put together a small list of items to replace as far as maintenance goes. I am steering away from really changing the set up as the car is pretty well sorted out now. The biggest change and modification will come to the drive train. I am finally going to have the rear diff rebuilt to optimize locking and induce more rotation! This will net large gains in time all over the track and I cant wait to have it installed and get to testing. Along with the diff, new axles and hubs at all 4 corners to freshin things up. I will also be investing in new front fenders, side skirts, rear wide body and possibly a new front bumper. Aero wise, the front splitter will have to be rebuilt and I think instead of going the custom route this time I may hand this over to DHP composites.
I will have pics uploaded as I document the 2012 Prep, stay tuned and feel free to leave some comments and suggestions!
